Paula Waiman Barak completed her Master's degree in the Maritime civilization department at the University of Haifa. Her M.A. thesis is on the Tell Abu Hawam during the Late Bronze Age Period. She is interested in currents, and winds that took ancient mariners to far away harbors, carrying goods from ports along the Mediterranean.
Currently Paula is studying Provenance and Technological Studies of Archaeological Ceramics in the University of Tel Aviv, and writing her PhD thesis in the University of Haifa under the supervision of Dr. Ayelet Gilboa and Prof. Yuval Goren on the economic relationships in the Eastern Mediterranean of the Iron Age I.
Paula participated in the excavations of the sunken harbors of Caesarea and Liman Tepe (Turkey). She was also responsible for measuring and drawing several wooden wrecks in the Tantura (Dor) lagoon. She joined the Tel Dor project in 2007 and worked in the museum and as an assistant architect.
Paula is the proud mom of Jonathan and Itamar.
