Registration (Prof. Bloch-Smith group)

The season lasts five and 1/2 weeks from June 28 to August 5. The first half season is between June 28 and July 15. The second half is between July 17 and August 5. If your schedule does not permit any of these options, please enquire about other dates. The minimum available duration is two weeks.

Extensions beyond the period initially applied for may be possible, depending upon mutual agreement and availability of accommodations.

The cost for a full season is $3500;
the cost for a half season is $2200.

Discounts are available for students (particularly of archaeology and related disciplines), Dor returnees, and persons who can provide needed skills and services. Please write us if you think you might qualify.


Field Schools (optional, additional fees):

Earn 2 credits for a half-season excavation (June 28 - July 15) or 4 credits for excavating the full season (June 28 - August 5) through the Hebrew University Rothberg International School, in a program administered by Dr. Bloch-Smith. Daily educational activities include instruction in archaeological field methods and theory, the processing and analysis of the material excavated each day, and afternoon lectures regarding various aspects of the archaeology, history, and specialized scientific studies of the site and the region. Please contact Dr. Bloch-Smith (bloch-smith@msn.com) for further details regarding this accredited program.

Registration: If you wish to join us, please read our info page and fill out the on-line application form. We will mail you the result when your form is processed. We also ask that you send us (by snail-mail) a deposit of $100 (registration fees). All checks, money orders, etc. should be made out to:

Your balance is due by May 15th. Late payment may jeopardize your participation. We accept applications after May 15 only if space remains available. Late registration may entail extra costs.
