Legal Information Institute (Cornell Law School)
The Legal Information Institute (LII), part of the Cornell Law School, is a very well organized and easy to use site "spotlighting" Supreme Court information and LII's "Law Events Recently in the News". A drop-down menu gives access to law by topic, constitutions and codes, court opinions, law by source or jurisdiction, an American Legal Ethics Library and a Social Security Library, directories (including links to journals) and more.

A selection of abbreviations for major foreign language law publications is also included. The database mainly covers law reports and law periodicals, but some legislative publications and major textbooks are also included.

Canadian Law

LexisNexis

Lexis has three points of entry into Canadian primary sources.  Contains all available reported and unreported full text judgments from Canadian courts and tribunals. Canadian legislative materials allows full-text, up-to-date searching of the Consolidated Statutes of Canada and the Consolidated Regulations of Canada at one time.  The Canadian Statutes & Regulations allows full-text, up-to-date searching of the Consolidated Statutes of Canada by itself or the statutes and regulations of three Canadian Provinces: Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario.  Accessible from campuses ONLY  [subscription database].

U.S. Law

LexisNexis

U.S. Government Printing Office
GPO Access provides free online use of over 2,200 databases of federal information .  It includes full-text access to regulatory materials in the Federal Register and The Code of Federal Regulations, important Congressional publications, such as the Congressional Record and Congressional Bills, the U.S. Code, the Public Laws and many other databases.

Thomas
The Library of Congress site is the primary source for Senate and House bills, the Congressional Record and Senate and House Committee Reports.  Bill summary and status from 1973-  (93rd Congress) provides a detailed legislative history of the bill, including amendment descriptions and from 1989- (101st Congress) links to the text of all versions of the bill.  Access to bills by public law number is also provided.  The text of public laws can be found on the GPO Access site.

Legal Information Institute - World

Cornell Law School developed the "original" LII:  the collection of world legal materials gathers, country by country, continent by continent,  Internet- accessible sources of  constitutions, statutes, judicial opinions, and related legal material from around the globe.  Also provides links to portals and organizations which link to international materials.

The Global Banking Law Database (GBLD) is a joint project of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. ICTY (International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia)

Hybrid Courts (Sierra Leone, Cambodia, East Timor, Kosovo)
Internationalized or hybrid criminal bodies are the terms are used to indicate three jurisdictions created, between 1999 and 2001, in East Timor, Kosovo and Sierra Leone:  the Crimes Panels of the District Court of Dili;  “Regulation 64” Panels in the Courts of Kosovo; Court for Sierra Leone; as well as a fourth one to address crimes committed by the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia (the so called Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia), which is currently under negotiation.  The site links to all documents relating to these courts as well as U.N. and other reports, full-text.

United Nations Treaty Collection

This collection contains the UN Treaty Series which includes texts of over 50,000 bilateral and multilateral treaties and the UN Treaty Series Cumulative Index, and gives access to the Status of Multilateral Treaties Deposited with the UN Secretary-General and the League of Nations Treaty Series, the texts of treaties published in the 205 volume hardbound series, c.1920-1946.
