BORROWING PRIVILEGES

Law Students (B.A.): 10 books from the general collection for three weeks and 4 reserved books overnight. 
 
Students from other Departments (B.A.): 10 books from the general collection for three weeks and 2 reserved books overnight. 

M.A. and Ph.D. Law Students: 20 books from the general collection for 30 days and 4 reserved books overnight. 

 

Faculty, M.A and Ph.D Law students from other universities: 5 books from the general collection for a month. Readers from other universities must bring a letter from the library at their university.

 

University employees: 10 books from the general collection . 

 

Outside readers: 5 books from the general collection only. Outside readers must purchase a reader's card from the library. For more details, call the library at 02-5882587.


RESERVED BOOKS

 

Reserved books may be borrowed from: 
Sun.-Wed.: From 17:00 till 10:00 the next morning. 
Thurs.: From 14:00 till 12:00 on the following Sunday. 
Reserved books also circulate for reading within the library between 09:00-16:00, Thurs. 09:00-13:00, but must be loaned at the circulation desk. 

RENEWALS

 
Books may be renewed for a further period:
1. In the library's computerized catalog through a University computer terminal:
type D reader's card no., and then CD
2. Through the Internet at http://har2.huji.ac.il/ALEPH/eng/JZF/JLW/JLW/BOR?
or http://www.libagent.org/
3. By phone 02-5882587 during library hours.
Reserved books may not be renewed.
Important: Law library books cannot be renewed through Mt. Scopus Humanities and Social Sciences Library's Voicemail service (Ma'ane Koli).

REQUESTS

 
GENERAL COLLECTION
Books which are out on loan may be requested and will be held for you when they return.
 
RESERVED BOOKS 
Books may be ordered in person and by phone (02-5882587) between 09:00-16:00. 
Books will be held until 18:30, or until otherwise requested. 

OVERDUE CHARGES

 
Fines are collected for overdue books.
Overdue charges as of Oct. 2004  are:
Books from the general collection: NIS 3.00 per book per day or per part of a day.
Reserved books: NIS 3.00 per book per hour or per part of an hour; NIS 30 per book per day.
Books loaned by special permission are fined as reserved books. 
 
Make sure to return or renew your books before going to the army reserve.
Reserve duty does not exempt you from fines.
  In the event of repeated offences or of a late return that affects many students, the library director may:  
  1. Suspend borrowing privileges.
  2. Issue a complaint to the University's Disciplinary Committee.
   
  In the event of a lost book the student will be obligated to cover all costs of replacing the book, including 25% vat and handling charges.

READER'S CARD

  Each reader is held responsible for books charged out on his/her card. Refrain from transferring your card to another reader. Only the authorized holder of the card may update it.  
 

  These rules have been approved by the University authorities, and any transgression is punishable according to University procedure.
