  • In this study we have used the data that were obtained in the Nuclear Reactor of the Technical University of Budapest, Hungary. ETS-II, a brown/red coated sigillata was found in large quantities in Caesarea Maritima in Israel, a site that has been the transito-harbor during the Roman period. The chemical compositions of this ETS-II ware proves that at least five new forms have to be added to the ETS-II repertory. The origin of the vessels is still an enigma: we were not able to trace it to a specific site. However, Israel has to be excluded. The ware comes from overseas.
